Privacy policy

Last updated 22 October 2026

Adam Dixon is an AI phone receptionist run by Voxotec (“we”). Businesses use it to answer their calls. This policy explains what happens to your information when you call a business that uses Adam Dixon, and when a business uses our service.

If you call a business that uses Adam Dixon

When you call, a virtual receptionist answers on the business's behalf. It tells you it's a virtual receptionist and, if the business records calls, that the call is recorded. We collect:

We use this to answer your call, to pass your message to the business, and to keep the call records the business needs. The business decides how it uses your message, under its own privacy policy. We don't sell your information or use it for advertising.

Where your information goes

Our database and call recordings are stored in Sydney, Australia. To answer and process a call, the audio and text pass through service providers that may handle them outside Australia, mainly in the United States: our telephony provider (Twilio), our voice platform (Vapi), and the speech-recognition, voice and AI model providers they and we use (including Deepgram, OpenAI and Anthropic). We use providers that commit to protecting the information they handle and not using it for other purposes.

How long we keep it

By default we delete call recordings after 90 days, and transcripts and messages after 12 months. A business can choose shorter or longer periods. Our providers' copies are deleted within a day of the call once our own copy is saved. A business can delete a call, or everything about a caller, at any time.

Your choices

You can hang up at any time, and you can ask to speak to the business directly. To see, correct or delete information about you, contact the business you called, or email us at [email protected] and we'll help.

If your business uses Adam Dixon

We collect your account details (names and email addresses of people who sign in), your business details and receptionist settings, and records of how the service is used. We use these to run the service, support you and bill you. Staff at Voxotec can see your account to set it up and support you; every time they open a business's account, it's logged.

Security

Each business can only see its own calls. Recordings are kept in private storage and played through links that expire within minutes, and every play is logged. Access to our systems is limited to the people who need it.

Questions and complaints
