Terms of service
Last updated 22 October 2026
These terms cover businesses using Adam Dixon, the AI phone receptionist provided by Voxotec(“we”). By using the service, your business agrees to them.
What the service does
Adam Dixon answers your business's calls with a virtual receptionist, answers questions using the information you give it, takes messages and tells you about them by SMS and email. It is not a replacement for emergency services and must not be used to handle emergencies.
AI makes mistakes
The receptionist is an AI. It can mishear callers, misunderstand them, or give a wrong answer. Check important details with the caller before acting on them. The receptionist only knows what you tell it, so keep your business information, prices and hours up to date.
Your responsibilities
- Give accurate information about your business, and only prices you're happy to quote.
- Follow the laws that apply to recording calls and to handling callers' personal information. The receptionist tells callers it's virtual and when calls are recorded.
- Keep your sign-in details to yourself and tell us about anyone who shouldn't have access.
- Don't use the service for anything unlawful, or for unsolicited marketing calls.
Fees
Fees are as agreed with us in writing. During a pilot, we invoice monthly based on your usage.
Availability
We work to keep the service running all the time but can't promise it will never be interrupted. If the receptionist can't answer, calls are forwarded to the backup number you give us where that's set up.
Your data
Your business's call records belong to you. We handle them as described in our privacy policy and delete them according to your retention settings. If you stop using the service, we'll delete your data on request.
Liability
Nothing in these terms excludes rights you have under the Australian Consumer Law. To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect losses, such as lost business from a missed or mishandled call, and our total liability is limited to the fees you paid us in the three months before the claim.
Ending the service
Either of us can end the service with 30 days' written notice. We can suspend it straight away if it's being misused.
General
These terms are governed by the laws of Queensland, Australia. We may update them and will tell you about material changes at least 30 days ahead. Questions: [email protected].
